It never occurs in free form, but mainly as silicon dioxide in combination with oxygen - also known as silicic acid. When composing the Dr. Rilling Healthcare food supplements, attention was paid to a balanced combination of silicon with other essential minerals and vitamins - such as calcium, magnesium, vitamin D3 and vitamin K2. The function of silicon
Silicon is needed by the human body for the construction and maintenance of skin, connective tissue, hair and nails, among other things. Other important functions are assumed, such as in cell construction and growth and in bone metabolism. These and other hypotheses about the function of silicon are and have already been investigated and proven in scientific studies. However, research is still in its early stages. The ability of silicon to combine with aluminum is said to be useful in freeing and protecting the body from aluminum deposits, for example in the brain and other organs. Aluminum is suspected of increasing the likelihood of developing Alzheimer's disease, among other things. A pioneer and specialist in this field is Professor Dr. Christopher Exley (Professor at Keele University, UK). He and his research group have already gained interesting insights into the binding of aluminum in the body. Taking silicon can therefore support the binding and excretion of aluminum in the body.

In nature, silicon occurs predominantly in crystalline (uniform) structures. In this form, the mineral is of little or no use to humans.
For better bioavailability (retardation), the raw material must be available to the body in another form. In conventional silica products, the amorphous raw material silicon dioxide is usually present in large particles (silica). The result is a relatively small surface area to which the intestinal mucosa and intestinal bacteria cannot optimally attach themselves. As a result, only a limited proportion of the silicon in the raw material is released and made available to the body. The aim of our team, consisting of chemists, biologists, doctors, alternative practitioners and technicians, was to develop a technology that would optimize the silicon bioavailability (retardation across the entire digestive tract) of the raw materials. Numerous experiments and scientific research work then led to the desired result.
The development of SAM technology (Surface Activation of Minerals)
