Citric acid has a limescale-dissolving effect not only through its acidic effect, but also through the formation of a calcium complex. It is often used in cleaning products. This avoids the unpleasant smell of vinegar cleaners. Practically everything can be quickly descaled with citric acid, such as water ionizers, coffee machines, kettles, taps, shower heads, stainless steel pots, etc.
It's not just about removing the unsightly limescale deposits, but also about having a lime-free product. Citric acid is particularly recommended for cleaning and descaling water ionizers.
Application: Depending on the degree of limescale, dissolve two to six 50g packs in about 1 liter of water at approx. 30° C (100-300g citric acid to 1 liter of water) and descale the water ionizer according to the descaling instructions.
