The electronic filter indicator - also called a timer - is located in the lid of the ECAIA carafe. By counting the days backwards, the timer shows exactly when the ECAIA cartridge needs to be changed.
This means: The timer starts at 60 (= 2 months) and then counts down by 1 every day. It is recommended to reorder ECAIA cartridge a few days in advance to avoid a gap.

And this is how the electronic filter indicator works:
1. Press the START button until the clock flashes 4 times.
2. The countdown starts at 60 and ends at 1.
3. To set the display back to 60, just press the START button again until the timer flashes 4 times. The timer now counts back to 1.

The timer itself can easily be removed and reinserted.
When you order an ECAIA carafe, a timer is already integrated into the lid.
