Each film-coated tablet contains:
- Vitamin C – 1000 mg (as calcium, magnesium, potassium and zinc ascorbate)
- Citrus bioflavonoids (min. 95% hesperidin) - 75 mg
- Magnesium (as magnesium ascorbate) - 60 mg
- Zinc (as zinc ascorbate)- 3 mg
Description
The fact that eating citrus fruits can prevent scurvy was discovered by sailors three centuries ago. In the past, people had to eat huge amounts of lemons and oranges to maintain their vitamin C levels. This has become much easier these days. Fortunately, because humans cannot produce vitamin C themselves and are therefore dependent on vitamin C from their diet, especially from fruit and vegetables.
There are two forms of vitamin C. The acidic form, also called ascorbic acid, is the most common in our diet. Ascorbic acid binds to minerals to form ascorbate. Ascorbate is the deacidified form of vitamin C (also known as the buffered form). This form is gentler on the teeth and stomach.
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and protects cells from oxidative stress. Vitamin C is also very important for the normal functioning of our immune system and psychological functions.
Each Vitamin C-1000 Ascorbate tablet from Bonusan contains 1000 mg of buffered vitamin C in the following forms: magnesium, potassium and zinc ascorbate. These minerals are present in the balanced ratio in which they naturally occur in the human body and complement the effect of vitamin C.
Just like vitamin C, magnesium contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue as well as to normal psychological function. The addition of zinc also supports acid-base metabolism. The 75 mg of citrus bioflavonoids per tablet ensures that this product remains very close to nature's model, as bioflavonoids are natural components of vitamin C.
No animal ingredients have been added to this product. Due to the high dosage, it is ideal for quickly replenishing vitamin C levels, which is a great advantage, especially in situations where the immune system is in high demand.
Bonusan Vitamin C-1000 Ascorbate Complex contains no animal ingredients and is therefore suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Application / Recommended consumption:
Unless otherwise recommended, take 1 tablet daily during or shortly after a meal. For optimal, even absorption, it is recommended to spread the dose throughout the day.
If the vitamin C intake exceeds the requirement, then excess vitamin C remains in the large intestine and is not absorbed. Vitamin C then causes (osmotic) diarrhea by attracting water in the large intestine ("bowel tolerance"). This side effect subsides as soon as the dosage is reduced.
